We are proudly announcing that the STELEC project was represented in the ACM CHI conference, took place in the beautiful Barcelona. Our colleague from Imperial College of London, Maya Thabal Herron presented our poster.
E-textiles represent a growing area in human-computer interaction, yet their end-of-life remains largely underexplored, leaving no established pathways for addressing this emerging waste stream. Our study reports the first step in our ongoing STELEC research exploring recycling possibilities for e-textiles. Using commercially available conductive woven fabrics, we used textile mechanical recycling to produce new conductive nonwoven materials suitable for medium-pressure, low-resolution piezoresistive sensing.
